We are Biblical
“These things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.” – St. John 20:31
The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the source of our faith and life. The Only True and Living God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit has given us His Word. The Bible is the pure, clear fountain of truth for our congregation and the whole world. God uses His Word to call us together and gives us new life to live in faith toward Him and fervent love toward one another. We are committed to receiving all that our Lord Jesus Christ has taught us in His Word and to living by faith alone in Him and His promises.
We are Confessional
“I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame.” – Psalm 119:46
To be confessional means to continue, not abandon, the historically agreed upon bible-based doctrines of our church. To hold to a public confession is to be clear, not hidden, in pointing to what we as a church believe, teach, and confess. We subscribe to the Book of Concord of 1580, the Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, teaching the same doctrine God has given to us in His Word. In a time when many modern churches abandon their own confessions, in favor of being “progressive”, “relevant”, and “moderate”, we are dedicated to confess Jesus is Lord and Savior in this world of growing unbelief.
We are Liturgical
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.” -Psalm 95:6
What worship style did your Christian ancestors grow up in and use, when wanting to confess the words God taught us? Christ Lutheran uses the historic liturgy, the worship style that the Western church has continued to use and pass down for over 1000 years. In a time when change is rapid, superficial, and consumeristic, the liturgy more than ever offers a place of ancient stability, rooted in confessing, singing, and praying the same words Christians of the past have done. Loving God and loving us, the Christians of the past have continued passing down the inheritance of the historic liturgy, not to be something entertaining, nor being attention grabbing, but to teach, to remember, to cement a common tongue for all Christians, being united in one faith, one savior, one Lord.

We are Lutheran
“Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage!” – Psalm 74:2
Our congregation was founded in 1972, in Paris, Tennessee. We are united and dedicated to Lutheran doctrine as drawn from the Scriptures, found in confessions of the Lutheran Church. Our congregation accepts and preaches the bible-based teachings of Martin Luther and the reformers who inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. This includes the Book of Concord. These teachings can be summarized in three phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, and Scripture alone.
